THE LOCANDA AL MORO Bed & Breakfast Sciacca, in the historical center

The B&B Locanda AL Moro, a building dating back to 1300, has been restored respecting the local culture and techniques of bio-architecture. It is located within the historic city of Sciacca, one of the most beautiful cities of Western Sicily.

The Locanda has nine double rooms (with possibility to use as single room), two triple rooms and two suites (with possibility to use quad). All rooms are strictly non-smoking rooms and are decorated in minimalist style: bathroom with a,shower, internal telephone, fridge, minibar, LCD TV,desk,air-conditioning, heating and WIFI access.

On the ground floor, in addition to the reception area with computer and Internet WIFI, which is available free of charge, is also a large breakfast room, equipped for meetings and small conferences, and an internal garden with a wine-cave, carved out of an old traditional oriental house, where you can sit and taste the best sicilian wines in a complete relaxing atmosphere. It are the very best wineries in Sicily who gave the names to our 13 guestrooms.

The Locanda offers direct contacts with the various Sicilian wineries and collaborates with the restaurant “Hostaria del Vicolo". In the summer and autumn we organise appointments ENOGASTRONOMIC with professionals for guided tours:

• Extra Virgin Olive oil tasting tour directly in an oil mill.
• Fish tasting tour in a canning company (anchovy and sardines in oil or salt).
• Cheese tasting tour directly in a dairy company (Vastedda del Belice DOP and Pecorino cheese).
• Tour with wine tasting at the wine cellars of the Hotel’s partners.

Our rich breakfast buffet is served from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., unless otherwise agreed with the staff. The buffet offers sweet and salty:

• cheese and sausage genuine local, organic jams and honey, orange juice (doing by yourself fresh oranges) in the winter months, different fruit juices, sandwiches, toast and croissants, yoghurt, cornflakes and seasonal fruits.
• A wide selection of teas, gluten-free diet products, coffee, cappuccino, coffee, milk, barley and cocoa.

Reachable by foot in approx. 10 minutes, is the famous Thermalbath “Sciacca Terme”. The bus stop from Agrigento and Palermo, is next to this Thermalbath, at the Villa Comunale.

The lively old town offers a rich source of interest .Strolling through the streets and alleys you discover the artistic and architectural beauties of the city.

There are many bars, restaurants, shops and craft shops that invite visitors to linger. Unforgettable is the sea view from the “Piazza Scandaliato” about 100 meters from our Guest House. By the arrival at the Hotel you will find family hospitality and maximum availability of multilingual staff, who is always ready to fulfill your wishes and to help you in every circumstance in respect of your privacy.
